A Few Picture Memories from My Time Living in Cleveland, OH and Ann Arbor, MI During the 1970s

(Above is the cover of my autobiography (if it ever gets published 🙂 )

Working for the Cleveland Press as a paperboy. My first paying job when I was 12 years old.

When I was 13 yrs old, I worked one day for Mr Frato. I cleaned up the garage, emptied the garbage, mopped the floor etc. I even went out on one of the garbage collection trucks. Mr Frato came into the garage, and saw me working. He asked me how old I was. I told him that I was 13. Later he told the man who had hoped that I would get hired for that position; that I was too young to work there. I was not even paid for the day’s work. Years later, I was saddened when I heard that Danny Greene had killed him. I have never believed the story that Mr Frato tried to shoot Greene first.

The relaxer I started putting in my hair when I was 13 years old. This stuff burns like hell.

WIXY  the AM radio station I listened to as a teenager. I later graduated to the FM station WMMS.

The kind of phone I used to call WIXY, what seemed like a hundred times to enter the Psychedelic Painted, VolksWagen Beetle car contest. Which I miraculously won, at the final drawing. Although I didn’t know how to drive. It was my first of the four cars that I owned before I learned how to drive, ten years later.

Their poetry jolted my soul to the core when I was 15 years old.

Around the same time I started listening to The Stooges.

My love for the Stooges made me want to visit Ann Arbor, Michigan.
