Working for the Cleveland Press as a paperboy. My first paying job.
Big Mike Frato
When I was 13 yrs old, I worked one day for Mr Frato. I cleaned up the garage, emptied the garbage, mopped the floor etc. I even went out on one of the garbage collection trucks. Mr Frato came into the garage, and saw me working. He asked me how old I was. I told him that I was 13. Later he told the man who had hoped that I would get hired for that position; that I was too young to work there. I was not even paid for the day’s work. Years later, I was saddened when I heard that Danny Greene had killed him. I have never believed the story that Mr Frato tried to shoot Greene first.

Although I didn’t know how to drive. It was my first of the four cars that I owned before I learned how to drive, ten years later.
